IDHA offers Down Payment Assistance
Currently in IL there is down payment assistance in Illinois it is available from IDH. A buyer can get up to $6,000 as a loan from IDHA to assist with the down payment. The repayment of this loan is excused after 10 years or prorated if the buyer moves and sells before 10 years. Using this source of funds and perhaps an FHA loan with 3.5% down payment make mortgages truly affordable if your credit score is strong.
